Description:
This symbolic composition depicts a moment of direct communion with a divine source of energy, known as the Fountain of Life.

At the center of the lower register, a solitary female figure is shown from behind, kneeling on clouds. With her arms raised in an act of reverence and reception, she is bathed in an overwhelming celestial light descending from the heavens.

The source of this light—Fons Vitae—dominates the upper part of the painting. It appears as a radiant sphere of energy, with an incandescent white core surrounded by colorful halos (yellow, green, blue), from which powerful rays emanate. This symbolizes the primordial source of life, consciousness, and all creation.

The title directly connects this theophanic experience to the feminine principle (mulieribus), suggesting a sacred relationship between women and the creative force of the universe. It may be interpreted as a divine blessing bestowed upon womanhood, or as a representation of woman as the sacred vessel of life.

The painting is rendered in Lucius’s visionary style, evoking an atmosphere of reverence and cosmic grandeur.
